I tend to avoid series and trilogies (why? I don’t know) but this one came recommended by my best friend so I had to give it a try and I’m so glad I did! It begins with a sense of mystery not entirely unlike the early seasons of LOST and progresses to a state of cosmic horror (!!!) and dread that’s delightfully reminiscent of HP Lovecraft. For those who enjoy the uncanny and believe that there is a fine line between beauty and terror, I highly recommend this. Crossing my fingers the next two books will live up to this one!
